Looking for friends or support Pen Pals!!

Hello,

I am looking for friends or pen pals who understands what I am going through.  I have RNY weight loss surgery scheduled for 8/26/2009. 

Friends and family do not seem to be very supportive. At first they seemed supportive but as the date gets closer they all say I don't need it.  I am getting tired of the excuses as to why they think I shouldn't have it...   I can't help but think they don't want to see me succeed!! That is all I can think of! I am looking to fill my life with positive people!

I am a very outgoing person who has a large sense of humer who enjoys life to the fullest!  I am going through a whole life transformation in addition to WLS!! I am very excited to open this chaper of my life!!

Kelli , I know the feeling my family , except for my wife were all against it .I would tell you it is there problem. What will shock you is after the surgury how it changes all your realationships . I guess only those of us who go through this know how it feels. I would not change a thing life is better and getting better every day . I guess it is a little different for me because it is my hubby that is having a little insecurity!!! Not sure what is going on with him but now he is back tracking everything that he supported in the beginning..  When I turned to intermediate family and friends to talk they agreed with him.. Saying, Kelli you really don't need surgery, just loose the weight on your own... Frustrating!!!!  If it were that easy I would have already done that...  I know what is best,  I just worry about the after affect of my relationship with my husband if he is already acting like this before surgery...

Hey Kelli, I just breifly when thru your letter and I wanted to let you know you aren't alone. I dont have a date but I'm lucky to have a very supportive spouse, but other than that I'm out in this alone. I want to be there to help and chat along the way.
